North Dakota Today | Judy Bakken and Grand Cities Mending Club

Thank you, friends, for watching and working for North Dakota Today. It was a lovely and rainy day to talk about Judy Bakken, my Nice Person of the Week, as well as a new club for people who want to…darn it!

If you would like to get in touch with Judy about your own family member’s graves, shoot me a message on my contact page and I’ll connect you. I asked Judy if there was anything she’d like people to know about her, and this is what she said:

I take after my mom, Sandra. We like to give and interact with people. We have gotten local cemeteries to put up mailboxes! We leave a guest book and cemetery information, including where they can send donations and who to contact about the cemetery.
I enjoy people and helping them.
I am the administrator for several local towns, Church/cemetery & family Facebook pages.
I meet the Great Plains Food Truck and bring food to 20 families in my neighborhood.
When my husband and I were traveling to jobs with the Union, I would organize Power Plant tours, laundry & grocery trips, trips to the zoo, second hand stores etc for the wives to do. It was great way to explore and learn about whatever state we were in.
I smile a lot. It really does make people wonder what’s going on.
