Nice news of the day – October 16, 2019

It’s been a tough harvest this year, so please take some time to spread a little North Dakota Nice to all of our wonderful area farmers that work so hard all year to #FeedTheWorld.

The winning pumpkin at the fourth-annual Pumpkins for Parkinson’s Grand Pumpkin Growing Contest was double the weight of the previous record-breaking pumpkin, and was grown by Kent Carrier of Walhalla. (Grand Forks Herald)

Grand Forks Public Schools has a program called Helping Hands, where middle and high school students volunteer around the community – and this summer those students gave 4,800 hours of their time. (Grand Forks Herald)
