Happy 4th of July! (And, on a personal note – it’s my son’s 8th birthday and my nephew’s 2nd birthday, so happy birthday to them!)
And in celebration, today’s news is RAD(D). Read on.
My grandfather loved to fish in his younger days, and I went with him a couple of times before I got too silly about the whole thing and stayed on land with my grandma. So, I was pretty excited when, right after I got married, my family-in-law booked a trip up to Lake Metigoshe to have a little fun in the sun and, of course, fish. My father-in-law brought me a rod, my brother-in-law baited it – and, wouldn’t you know, two seconds after putting it in the water, I caught a fish…and then promptly freaked out because I wasn’t sure what to do. Long story short, the fish lived and I spent the rest of the excursion fishing (“fishing”) with marshmallows. Anyways, two teenage brothers from Hazen are much, much, much better at fishing. (KX Net)
I’m pretty sure we had archery as a gym segment when I was in high school, but it was definitely not as cool as this. (Dickinson Press)
As a person grew up in the 80’s and watched a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I am pretty pumped about the name (and, of course, purpose of) the RADD program. #Tubular (KFGO)
