“Stuff that makes you say, “Oh, for nice”

North Dakota Today | Sarah Bry, Nick Cichy, and RADD

Thank you, friends, for watching and working for North Dakota Today. It was a spooooky day to talk about Sarah Bry and her dad, Nick Cichy, my Nice People of the Week, as well as Grand Forks group running to build community and connections in recovery.

To support Sarah’s 62-mile challenge, click here. As Sarah told me, “I think hope and determination is a huge part of fighting this disease. It’s important for the person affected to know that people care; and I’m so thankful for all of the people that have shown how much they care about my Dad – in so many different ways.”

To learn more about RADD, otherwise known as Runners Against Destructive Decisions, click here. In the words of co-founder Matthew Hippen, “We’re always welcoming new runners, walkers, and volunteers to join us! We currently meet at Crisp and Green on Columbia Road in Grand Forks, every Sunday at Noon. We go for a walk, jog, or run, and meet back there for a little fellowship, emphasizing the power of gratitude by encouraging everyone to share things they are grateful for heading into the next week. You don’t have to be an athlete, or have years in recovery, just someone who believes in hope, health, and second chances. Every mile, every smile, every cheer shows that people can change, heal, and grow, and that we’re all stronger together.”

I hope you enjoy this week’s North Dakota Today segment, which you can watch by clicking on the image below. Have a great week!
