“Stuff that makes you say, “Oh, for nice”

Check It Out | Aneta Turkey Barbecue

Looking for something to do with your little turkeys on June 19-22? Head on out to Aneta for the 64rd Annual Turkey Barbecue & Summer Celebration. In the words of the one of the lovely organizers, Mandy Wentz, “Anyone and everyone can come and there’s something for everyone!”

While the Summer Celebration is well underway – check out the schedule below – the actual barbecue takes place on Saturday night. Come hungry, because they are cooking up 280 turkeys, 900 pounds of potato salad, 900 pounds of beans, 100 pounds of chips, and two hundreds tons of fun. Get there early for the tractor pull at 11AM and the parade at 3PM. After the barbecue is a fireman water races, followed by a street dance with October Road.

If you’ve never been, Aneta is basically the center point of a Grand Forks/Fargo/Jamestown triangle…so about an hour from Grand Forks and a bit longer from Fargo. If you need more details, click here for the Facebook page.

Gobble gobble! That’s turkey for “Have a beautiful weekend!”
