Misti Koop (director/theatre manager), is thrilled to be directing for Frost Fire Summer Theatre this season! Frost Fire Theatre is the company where she gives credit to much of her theatrical performing growth. Originally from East Grand Forks, MN and Grand Forks, ND, Misti holds a music education degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and a masters degree in Theater Arts from UND. She is a recent 7-year alumni performer of The Medora Musical. Misti has frequently performed and more recently directed for Fort Totten Little Theater, and Greater Grand Forks companies: Fire Hall Community Theatre, Summer Performing Arts Company and the Empire Theatre Company. When she’s not performing, Misti teaches music of all levels: choir, band and elementary classroom; currently in Minto, ND. Misti plays many instruments including all saxophones, trumpet, flute, trombone, clarinet, accordion, piano. She currently plays horns with Matt Hodek and the Dakota Dutchmen (polka band). She also plays lead alto sax and vocals for the Greater Grand Forks Classic Swing Band (formerly known as the Dick King Swing Band). She also subs on saxophones and vocals with the Downtown Horns, based out of Grand Forks. National tour credits out of New York City include: “Jesus Christ Superstar” (ensemble) and “Harry the Dirty Dog” (Harry). Ship credits include: actor/musician for “Cirque Dreams” aboard the Norwegian Epic. Favorite Professional Regional Theatre favorite credits include: “The Sound of Music” (Maria 2006, 2022), “Les Miserables” (Eponine), “Annie Get Your Gun” (Annie), “Sweet Charity” (Charity), “The Pajama Game” (Babe), “Spitfire Grill” (Percy), and writing and starring as herself, in her own Christmas show, “The Holiday Show.” Misti also currently performs with the Magical Medora Christmas Tour, and joined them for her 4th year. Misti also recently completed her first solo album, “Favorites!” Misti wants to remind you that many preparations are underway for the Frost Fire Theatre rebuild!
