I’m not sure there’s a better name for an event than Walhalla’s 21th Annual Giant Pumpkinfest. Giant? Good. Pumpkins? GOOD. Fest? VERY GOOD. Marking your calendars for September 27, 2025? Excellent.

Can anyone attend?  If yes, is there anything a first-timer should know?

Yes! It is a family friendly event, for all ages.  Bring cash or checks as a lot of our vendors do not take credit cards. 

We have a lot of events taking place throughout the day, lodging is available through the Forestwood Inn and Riverside Campground as well in surrounding communities.

It looks like you have a LOT of pumpkins coming your way.  Do you have to live in Walhalla to submit a pumpkin?  How many pumpkins do you expect?

You DO NOT have to live in Walhalla to bring a pumpkin or vegetable for the contest. Ron Beneda, who lives in Park River, ND, usually brings pumpkins each year. We honestly never know how many pumpkins to expect as these guys are kind of secretive.
