School has been out for, what, three days – meaning we are all looking for ways to keep our little angels occupied in ways that don’t involve jumping off of their neighbor’s shed roof and onto their trampoline (not that I would know anything about that). Well, beep beep honk honk, friends, because THE LITTLE RED READING BUS is coming to a parking lot near you!
The Little Red Reading Bus is the brainchild of the Grand Forks Foundation for Education, and Executive Director Emilia Hodgson has kindly offered some information for those who have yet to partake:
What is the Little Red Reading Bus? It’s a “library on wheels” that brings books to children at parks throughout the Grand Forks community during the summer months. Children have the opportunity to check out books for reading enjoyment. The bus will run Monday through Thursday from June 3 through August 8.
When and where can people find the bus this summer? All over Grand Forks, our schedule is below!
Can anyone get a book? Everyone has access to this completely FREE program—they just need to sign up! Books are available from preschool to middle school reading levels, and this summer, a selection of multi-language books is available for those who are new to our community.
Is there anything else we should know? Follow the bus on Facebook/Instagram for special events like art projects throughout the summer.
Have fun!
