Thank you to the lovely people who work for and watch North Dakota Today – it was a typical North Dakota spring morning to talk about the wonderful host of Valley News Now and a free event for aviation fans of all ages.
We only barely tapped into all of the wonderfulness that is Jessie Aamodt; to learn more, follow her on Facebook as she traverses the wild world of Rochester, Minnesota. I thought you all might like what she had to say about her work with the Girl Scouts in her own words:
I absolutely LOVED getting to represent North Dakota at an international level as Mrs. North Dakota International 2019. First of all, it was an honor to come after so many women who have this tremendous reputation of being incredibly hard working and authentic. It was important to me because I was able to promote Girl Scouts as my platform. The Girl Scouts Mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. For me, Girl Scouts was a place where I learned that I was special and had something to give, not in spite of my imperfections but because of them. It was there where I really came into my own as a person and learned to appreciate the gifts and abilities that were unique to me. I desire for everyone to know that they are made on purpose for a purpose. The little girl that got “Talks Too Much” on every report card was definitely a chatterbox, but she also loves people and loved hearing their stories and what’s important to them and how she can connect them with others. Because the more we learn about each other, the more we learn how alike we are and the more that barriers are broken down and we become a more united community. And that can be said for each one of us in our own way and Girl Scouts is one place that teaches the importance and value of each person and encourages people to share that with others.
