Thank you to the awesome people who work for and watch North Dakota Today – it was a lovely morning to talk about a “free store” in Minto and a 100-year-old lefse-making program!
Follow Department 701 on Facebook by clicking here, or donate towards the mission by Venmo at @nancigw. Nanci’s motto is “See a need. Fill a need.” – and she is currently looking for someone to run electricity to the shed, so if you have the time and skills to fill a need, please contact her.
As you know from my segment, I received a couple of leads for some homemade lefse for those who want to partake without the work. L&L Lefse in Red Lake Falls (218.684.5282) comes highly recommended and they deliver to parts of North Dakota, and Carl’s Lefse in Hawley (218.483.3469) is available in the eastern part of the state. If you have others you’d like added to this list, send them my way! (P.S., one of the ladies at Valley News Live told me her husband wraps pickle spears with lefse, which is new to me – so I’m going to try it, but I’m also going to add cream cheese.)
I hope you enjoy this week’s North Dakota Today segment, which you can watch by clicking the image below. Have a great week!
