North Dakota Today | Cans 4 Corn and the Foster Grandparent Program

Thank you to the wonderful people who work at and watch North Dakota Today – it was a lovely almost-fall morning to talk about Cans 4 Corn and the Foster Grandparent Program.

Cans 4 Corn is a one-day event on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2023 from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm at Sproule Farms. Sproule Farms is on the corner of 40th Avenue South and South Washington, and you can learn more about the event on Facebook. You can also learn more about Sproule Farms and 3 Farm Daughters on their websites. Thank you to the Sproules, all of their supportive family, and a number of volunteers and sponsors for making this event happen!

The Foster Grandparent program is an all-year program for anyone ages 55 and older who are willing to give 5 to 40 hours of their time to help kids across the state. As you will learn in the segment below, there is no “right” background of education level for grandparenting; just a willingness to help. Learn more and volunteer by clicking here.

And, as I noted at the end of my segment, Gilby Gone Wild is this weekend! A message from the organizer:
Gilby Gone Wild is September 16th from 10-4:00, but people will be there before and after. I am expecting between 250-300 cachers. We also have smaller events Friday and Sunday. You are welcome to come out to the event and see the great people and the excitement in the town. It’s neat to see the community get together and welcome geocachers from all over the US, Canada and we will have a couple from Norway.
