I know “the reason for the season” is an important topic to the Christian community in North Dakota (and probably everywhere); but I’ve posted a bunch of stories of people giving Christmas gifts to children and families because it seems the social impacts of Santa and gift-giving are also important to our area kids. It’s tough to see your friends get all sorts of cool presents from Santa when you get nothing (or not much), so I love groups like the Santa Claus Girls who are acting as local Santas to give families some boxed happiness. A little battle in blue going on in Berthold and Bismarck – in Berthold, elementary students gathered up presents for the Police Department to hand out in the Trinity Pediatric Therapy Department; and in Bismarck, the Fire Department is acting as Santa for 16 organizations around the community.
