Nice news of the day – August 6, 2019

Did you know Minot’s Bella Burckhard competed last weekend in the national Miss Amazing Pageant, which “invests in the strengths of girls and women with disabilities?”  Bella is North Dakota’s first-ever Miss Amazing.

And did you know today’s North Dakota Nice news is about cruisin’ in cars, savin’ the bees, and Medora Magic – which is (probably) not what you think?  Read on.


Once a week in the summertime in Grand Forks, car enthusiasts park outside of Culvers, pop their hoods, and host what looks like a very wholesome tailgating party.  And for the last 8 years, Casselton has taken this gathering one big step further with a bike and cruise show that raises money for “rural Cass County grandmas and grandpas.” (KVRR)

If you read the news here each week, you know that I’m constantly amazed by how many organizations are working to help bees, monarch butterflies, and other pollinators. (Pierce County Tribune)
