Some of you know my dad, Steve Silverman, co-authored (along with my mom, Robin) a North Dakota landscapes book called “America’s Land of Tranquility.” My dad found a never-before published photo – shown here – from his 2003 travels called “Springtime on the Maah Daah Hey Trail,” and wanted me to share it with all of you because it’s considered one of the best hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails in the U.S.
According to the Maah Daah Hey Trail Association, it has nine trail units, eight water caches, 16 trail heads, 11 camp sites, and has every type of terrain found in western North Dakota. It’s open all year, so you have plenty of time to check it out!
And speaking of things to check out, today’s news is about a newborn animal sanctuary, chalk art, and a West Fargo astronaut. Read on.
