Nice news of the day – November 1, 2018

When I was a young’un, my elementary school held an annual Egg Drop Contest, in which students competed to design the most unique and useful way to drop a raw egg from the top of the school without breaking it.  Yesterday’s Egg Drop is today’s Makerspace Carnival; students at Wilkinson Elementary created games using only cardboard, duct tape, and paint. While other communities are lamenting the loss of their arts and music programs across the country, Dorian “Pete” Cordes willed his entire retirement savings – $345,000 – to creating an annual $10,000 scholarship for seniors who will be studying instrumental music in college. (Bismarck Tribune)
