Madie’s Munchies the stuff of a young entrepreneur’s dreams (MyNDNow)

Ten-year old Madie Canales has opened her own treats stand in Bismarck, serving up a variety of cookies, with the plans of saving up for a car.  So far Madie has earned over $500 from the stand, which is open on Saturdays and can be tracked on her Facebook page, found here.

North Dakota native Ed O’Keefe wins a Primetime Emmy (Grand Forks Herald)

Most of us know of Anthony Bourdain’s connection to North Dakota through Marilyn Hagerty, but it turns out the food giant had a another tie to our state – as the star of his television series, produced by Grand Forks native Ed O’Keefe. Ed and his fellow executive producers received a Primetime Emmy last weekend for “Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown.”  And, of course, Ed has only nice things to say about his hometown in an interview with the Grand Forks Herald.

Anonymous hero saves 15-year old from vehicle fire (Fargo Forum)

A pickup truck and a semi-truck crashed near Casselton this week.  The pickup, driven by a 15-year old, caught fire – but fortunately, a passerby saw the accident and pulled the boy to safety.
