First-annual Cowgirls for a Cure raises $35,000 to support local cancer patient services (KFYR TV)
Nearly 200 barrel racers took to the Beard Arena in Menoken in order to raise awareness for the importance of mammograms. One-hundred percent of the proceeds of the event went to the Edith Sanford Cancer Center. The riders, horses, and audience were encouraged to wear pink to honor the community’s breast cancer survivors.

The cast and crew of the Medora Musical performed in front of 117,000 attendees this year, including 1,700 in its closing show. The open-air musical revue is held at the Burning Hills Amphitheater, which was built in 1958 as a part of Teddy Roosevelt’s 100th birthday celebration. Attendance in 2017 was estimated at 116,000.
California’s Andrew DeLaPena considers North Dakota his second home after a Fargo boy provided him with a lifesaving heart transplant as a baby. Andrew will be speaking about his connection to North Dakota and what he has done to make the most of his gift at an event on Monday, September 10 at the Fargo Air Museum.
